X Premium
Context
X (formerly Twitter), which relied heavily on ad revenue, has seen a significant decline in ad due to market changes. The platform's previous verification system was biased towards celebrities, overlooking the broader user base's right to verification and equal voice. Additionally, users have expressed a need for innovation, as the platform had not seen significant updates in a decade. To address these issues, I designed and launched X Premium, a new revenue model for X, offering more advanced experiences, inclusive verification process, and empowering creators.

Multi-tier Premium signup
X Premium is our premium subscription service that elevates quality conversations on the platform. It has three tiers - Basic, Premium, and Premium+. This structure caters to varied user needs while also creating new revenue avenues for the company.

Creators monetization
To support creators in earning directly on X, we've launched three monetization programs - the Subscriptions program for revenue from super followers, a Reply/Profile ads revenue sharing program for all content, and a Pre-roll ads sharing program for videos.

Empower creators to write longform articles
To overcome X's 280-character limit, we've introduced the Articles feature, supporting longer posts and varied formatting. This enables direct article publishing on X, bypassing the need to link to external content.

Instant ID verification
Rolled out the optional ID verification to increase the overall integrity and trust on our platform. This gives users an ID-verified badge on their profile and prioritize support from X Services in case of impersonation.

X Premium+ subscribers can access Grok, the conversational AI developed by xAI, directly in X app. The major competitive advantage of Grok is the ability to have access to both real-time and historical posts.
